19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is his initial trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since that period of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
The opponent defended 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he earned the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
