Much like the recent storm swept through the northwest the prior day, the home side overwhelmed the visitors away at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement three-nil triumph for their manager's side owing to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that clearly signaled their leadership claims as they reinforced their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for United

This outcome signalled back-to-back Women's Super League setbacks for Marc Skinner’s side for the initial occasion since May 2024, putting them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.
