The Fifth Toy Story Film Trailer Sets Woody and Buzz Against a Digital Device
Exactly 30 anniversary after the original Toy Story film was released, establishing Pixar as a major film company and bringing viewers to iconic figures like Woody (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now household names.
Coming in 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a glimpse into the plot but keeping fans wondering how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang
The preview reveals the young girl — who received Andy's toys when he grew up — receiving a latest toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She acquires her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like the rest of her playthings. However, the toys seem to view it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is what Woody is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), traveling with a fair and assisting prize toys find good homes.
Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with Woody. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?
Connections from the Last Installment
Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the prior film. The last thing the cowboy did before setting off for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her in charge of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip shows the badge attached to her outfit.
Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys.
