Trump's Framework of Punishment and Favor

Trump's voracious desire for retribution has swiftly morphed into a structured framework. Over the past year, the president's rage and caprices have adopted the guise of administrative measures similar to analogous to past dictatorial governments. Justice department personnel who resist his demands are promptly dismissed and succeeded by loyalists. Critical figures who question him risk prosecution, trial and punishment. Critics have been categorized under executive orders as “hostile to national interests”, “opposed to religious values” and “against free markets”, and threatened with criminal charges as “terrorists”.

Federal Agencies Restructured

Each situation involving legal action of critics and leniency for his allies exhibits its own particular characteristics. However, notwithstanding their particular character, they represent examples of what has arisen as a systematic method. Those episodes are anything but random. The administration's purge of DoJ prosecutors and Federal Bureau of Investigation officials, alongside his placement of loyalists in high-level posts, started rapidly, soon assumed a pattern, and has now been formed into a structure. The justice department and the law enforcement agency have been remade into ideological bodies under Trump's clear command to execute his directives. Injustice has been turned into standard. It constitutes the apparatus of revenge.

Administration is more concerned with punishing the leader's perceived enemies than they are with defending our public welfare.

Internal the Structure

The origin of this mechanism has been exposed in the court filing of multiple former top Federal Bureau officials lodged in September in the federal court in the capital against agency head Kash Patel and top lawyer another official for wrongful dismissal in “a campaign of revenge against the officials for what the accused deemed to be a inability to demonstrate adequate devotion”. In the complaint that one official, the previous temporary head, describes a conversation in which he “publicly acknowledged the illegality of his actions”.

He had tried to defend FBI agents from being fired, the complaint alleges. Patel informed him that “they” – interpreted by him to be the White House and federal prosecutors – had ordered him to fire all those who they considered as having participated in a law enforcement case against Trump. The document adds: “The director explained that he had to dismiss the personnel his bosses told him to dismiss, because his chance to keep his own role relied on the ouster of the personnel who were involved in matters involving the President. He commented that there was no way he or him could do to stop these or any other terminations, because ‘the FBI attempted to incarcerate the leader in prison and he recalls it clearly.’” When he told the director he was breaking the bureau's own policies, he supposedly said “he understood that and he knew the essence of the summary firings were likely improper”.

Broad Effects

Since his alleged confession to him, the DoJ and the FBI have been gutted and redirected for his retribution system. Six of the FBI's senior executives were dismissed or forced out in the initial period of the administration. About numerous lawyers at the department have accepted a “early exit scheme”. No fewer than several DoJ lawyers, including those in the Manhattan division, quit in objection over what they viewed as ideological pressure in dropping the corruption case against the local official, a political figure, in as a trade for his collaboration with the administration's Immigration and Customs Enforcement detentions of immigrants. The anti-corruption unit of the department, which oversees misconduct investigations, has been reduced to two attorneys. The equality section has been severely reduced: the majority of its staff has resigned. 33% of senior leaders at the justice department have left. The section enforcing environmental law has seen departures of a majority its leadership.

Favors and Punishments

Concerning the legal matter, the interim prosecutor for the federal division, Danielle Sassoon, resigned in objection against what she labeled as the “trade-off”. The border official, his “enforcement chief,” was present as the implementer with him on television to state: “Should he fail to deliver, I will return in the city.”. And, another figure, earlier the justice department figure and a ex-lawyer, who arranged the deal, was given an appellate federal judgeship, a possible stepping stone to the judicial branch.

Trump's exemption for crimes perpetrated while in power, awarded by the extraordinary ruling of the conservative on the supreme court, thus blocking his criminal case over the political violence and preserving his political viability for the presidential race, is the foundation stone on which he relies to protect his loyalists. With such immunity, he has been empowered to authorize wrongdoing. The consequence of the judicial ruling saturates his presidency and the GOP down to its bones. The legal case has escalated. As the former president's White House counsel he commented about the Watergate
